Community Theater | Charles Stewart Howard Playhouse

Help Us Create Theater Magic!

Adulting is Hard. Theater is Fun.

Life is full of spreadsheets, dentist appointments, traffic, and unread emails.

That’s why live theater matters. It’s one of the few places left where you can step out of everyday reality, sit in the dark, and watch a roomful of creative humans bring a great story to life right in front of your eyes.

But putting on a show doesn’t happen by magic. Handmade costumes take yards of fabric, custom stage lighting takes hardware, and keeping the theater warm, bright, and running takes actual resources.

You Can Help! For as little as the cost treating us to a good cup of coffee, you can help us keep the lights on. Every dollar goes straight into our production costs- funding the costumes, powering the spotlights and the AC, and keeping local community theater thriving right here.

Every Bit Helps

Not in a position to give financially right now? You can still play a massive role in making this show a success!

Spread the word: Share this campaign on social media or email it to a friend who loves live theater.
Tell your story: Post about your favorite CSHP moment, show, or memory and tag us! Your personal experience helps show our community why local theater matters so much.

Whether you donate $5, share a post, or tell a neighbor, you are keeping theater magic alive at CSHP.

Hey Friends -

We’re kicking off a fundraising campaign today, and while our opening video didn't quite go to plan... bloopers are fun, too. At the CSHP, we take our craft seriously, but ourselves? Not so much.

While you're here, enjoy the hijinks, and follow along over the next 15 days as we try to hit our goal (and create a decent video or two in the process).

If you’d like to support what we do, any amount helps keep the lights on and the magic happening.

Click the link in our bio to visit our Givebutter page, learn more about our goal, and chip in if you can!

We may be resting after the incredible run of Company, but behind the scenes? When the stage goes dark, the board gets to work and we're already planning what's next.

You might already be thinking two steps ahead, about the Spring 2027 show. But what about February?

We are cooking up something truly special for our first show of the new year. It's not what you're thinking.

Any guesses?

Scripts, snacks, and good conversation.

Join us for an informal table read of Peter and the Star Catcher to see if it’s the right fit for our mainstage slate. No audience, no performance—just a cold read followed by a casual post-read chat.

Marshelle here.

As a director, there’s nothing quite like watching a group of individual performers transform into a true family on and off stage. Company asks us what it means to love, to show up, and to build a life alongside other people. Every single person on and behind this stage poured so much heart, humor, and truth into answering those questions together.

To our cast and creative crew: thank you for your trust, your hustle, and your unmatched talent. I could not be prouder of everything we’ve created here.

And to our audience: thank you for choosing to keep us Company during this run and keeping community theater thriving.

Haven't seen the show yet? You have three more chances! Join us for closing weekend tonight, Saturday or Sunday at 7. Ticket link in bio.
