CSHPlayhouse of Woodland Hills presents 12 Angry Jurors

​

The Charles Stewart Howard Playhouse of Woodland Hills presents 12 ANGRY JURORS, a play about justice, prejudice, reason, and empathy.

​

Following the closing arguments in a murder trial, the 12 members of the jury must deliberate, with a guilty verdict meaning death for the accused, an inner-city teen.

​

As the dozen jurors try to reach a unanimous decision while sequestered in a room, one juror casts considerable doubt on elements of the case. Personal issues soon rise to the surface, and conflict threatens to derail the delicate process that will decide one boy's fate.

​

If this sounds like the classic play 12 Angry Men, it is.  The words haven’t changed, but the ethnicity, race, and gender of the jurors has.  Written by Reginald Rose and adapted by Sherman L. Sergel, the text has the same power and impact that it had 50 years ago. 

​

Deftly directed by the CSHP’s Artistic Director, Marshelle Giggles-Mills, this production boasts a diverse cast of actors including Adron Duell, Albert Santos, Amanda Noriko Newman, Aris Kakkis, Dorrie Braun, Ephraim Eshete, Jake Osgard, Janet Lee, LeVanna Atkinson-Williams, Mackayla Hill, Matthew Worland, Parker Lee, Sierra Smith, and Steven West.

Suzanne Ryan, the CSHP’s founder, serves as the show’s producer.  Production Design and Technical Direction is provided by Jessica Worland, while Brittany Joy Sundman is returning as Stage Manager.  Savannah Van Leuvan returns as Lighting Designer, and Matt Worland is serving as the Production Coordinator.  LeVanna Atkinson-Williams rounds out the staff as Company Manager.
